The Christmas days went very fast, and soon 2013 is ended.
In Oslo we have +9 C today, and no snow,,,,,
It should have been -9 and a lot of snow, but it looks like this winter is different. I don't like it.!

In the last days before the 24th. I finished this small doll.
She has a knitted T-shirt and trouses as the body. Long hair and a scarf, and the sweater is in process.

I did finish it in time, and the receiver was very happy when she got it. :-)

.... and a new "Dream sweater" is also in the process.
Hope to finish in a few days.....

I wish you all a happy New Year, and thanks for following my blog in 2013.

A new Tammy

In June this summer I participated in a blog hop with mdm Samm,  http://www.sewwequilt.com/
and we made the very cute Tammy purse. :-) Mine was with flowery fabric I got from my mam, but this time I used a linen like fabric, and the lining is a fabric I purchased this spring when I was I the US. They fitted perfect together.
The only problem we have in Sweden is to get a frame that's long enough on the sides, so the opening will be big enough. But this one is very suitable in color and  it works....

Its 4 pockets, both outside and inside.

And a small purse for coins or the lipstick.... :-) to go with it.

This will be a present for a young lady that was of great help to me lately, that's all I can say. :-)

Have a wonderful week all of you.
I wish you a happy holiday season.
See you, regards Ingrid
( feeling much better today, so it will be Christmas this year as well.....  :-)      )

PS. This is  my first Tammy, just a different frame:

Knitting is ok when you have the Flu.... :-(

Been in bed for some days with the flu, and felt sorry for myself....
But, that's not a way to behave, so I had to knit to keep the spirit going.

2 pair of socks are ready for Santa Claus.

I tested a pattern  with foxes from Norsk Ull, but changed it to fit my socks. I only used the fox face, and the nose and eyes I stitched. All the long threads on the back side I fastened extra, so the little boy who is going to get this will not get he's toes in the loops. :-)
The foot and heal is knitted with double yarn, 1 thread 80% wool ( Opal)  and 1 cotton.

And this you can see is the same pattern as I used for the blue socks some weeks ago.
Again I apologize for bad quality on my pictures. I have to use my cell phone for some weeks, until I get hold of my battery charger for my camera. ( Left in my apartment in Oslo, on the last visit.)

Yesterday I felt better, so I did some sewing, ( a Tammy bag, and a small purse) but I need to finish  the handle and some buttons, so this will bee for another day....
Have a nice week.
:-)

All elfs are dressed.... :-)

All 3 elf's has got sweaters, and the girls skirts and the boy an elf cap and a scarf.
Next in line will bee caps for the girls.

Have a nice day. :-)

Blånisser, Blue elf's from "Månetoppen" ( Blueberry Hill, in elf,s-land)

3 Blue elf's.
Only the boy has got his cloths, sweater, scarf and elf- cap.

One of the girls have  also got her sweater, and..

....her skirt. The next skirt are in process. :-)
Then I only have to knit another sweater, and something to put on the girls head.
Either a long elf- cap, or a big scarf to throw around....
and a picture from last year elf's,
Have a nice day. :-)

Hasenbach challenge

The November block of the challenge is finished.
This time I did the church. ;-)
On the picture I sent Katrin for her blog on Saturday I only had made the church, but now I also added the diamonds on the right side and the small 1 inch pieces at the bottom.
Had too much to do in the weekend, so this post is really 2 days late, but I hope you will forgive me...

...And I put in 2 birds in the birdfeeder block from earlier.

Have a nice week, and hope you are "in Route" for Christmas.

100 city blocks, sew together :-) November

Hver blokk her blir  6 inch ferdig.

This month's blocks of our sew together after Tula Pinks book, 100 city blocks.
Apologizes for the bad quality of my last picture, I forgot my battery charge for my camera when  I was in Oslo, so I only have my cell phone, and it's not as good...  ( surprise.... )
The blocks are 6½ inch squares, and will be 6 inch finished.
I'm going to make a city view pattern in the quilt to bee....

Have a nice weekend. :-)

Tablemats, kuvertbrikker

I had some more of the 2½ inch pieces I won on the blog, and they ended in 2 tablemats.
I used linen for the borders.
Tried a new quilting. :-)

Have a nice day. :-)

Knitting, socks and mittens... :-)

Some days ago I had an idea about my leather mittens, and the old inner lining...
It didn't look nice, so I decided to knit a pair.
I used Rauma Finull yarn, and made a simple pattern, just so it would fit the size of the old lining.
Washed them, and let them shrink a little bit to bee thicker and tighter.
Result as you can see, ok?

... And I also made a new pair of socks for one of the grandchildren. As a result of this pair nr. 1 I need to make some more in the same stile.  ( of course)
The pattern (my own)  is the same as the socks with 1 thread of cotton, but in this I have 2 threads only in the foot, and smaller rolls with different colors in the leg.

But even if I'm not showing any sewing today, don't believe that nothing is happening....
Just wait and see....

Have a nice week end, ( I know we will...  :-)   )

Her passet det helt perfekt.

In August when I was back from my holiday, I got a package in the mail. I had won a Give Away from Anne Marlene :-)
http://lappatoklart.blogspot.se

I was trilled. It was a lot of 2½ squares, in different colors. For this table runner  I used some of the green and orange / red colors and added the off white. For borders I used linen, and the backing is a fabric I bought from Ikea a long time ago.
The pattern is my own. :-)

... and today I picked the last tomatoes from the plant on our staircase. (Thank you Kristina :-) )
Time to end the season, the winter will soon be coming....
Have a wonderful week end, and enjoy your days.

End of month, and Hasenbach Challenge

Hello again

I have been sewing and ripping seems and been angry with myself for not washing this dark blue fabric before I started. When using the iron, the white star in the middle turned blue....
So I moved the paper, washed the blocks, and they now look like this..
They turned out ok, so I will use them after all.

And there are some more of this stars, in other fabrics as well.

This pots was in the last presentation as well, but I did not take another picture, so you have to excuse me. :-)

This two are new....

And I also did some more work with this house, put on some decoration along the windows, and a flowerpot outside.
I have been looking at the different possibilities of arranging the blocks together, and found that I think I will do it with small squares at the side.
It will then look like this.
Have purchased fabric to make the church as well, so that's the next block on my agenda.
Hope you all enjoy the Challenge, and that you are making more progress then me...

Have a nice week, and sew in your own time schedule. ( Some months are buzzier then others)

                                           :-)

City blocks from Tula Pink, sew together :-)

First I need to thank the 3 "girls" that started this project. :-)
It's great fun, and I have already done my 10 blocks of the month....
and some little extra.

The small triangles I cut off some of the flying geese, I used to sew small" wheels".
This I made into a nametag for my suitcase, and  I used  it in the weekend when I went for a business trip.    Great fun to have your own self-made tag. Will make more of those....

So, here you will find my 10 blocks.
I will make all in pink/lilac and grey tones.

Close up of my cheetah.
På svensk skal det väre en Gepard... :-)

Tag for my suitcase. :-)

Have a nice day.

Autumn and more.... :-)

It's autumn, nothing to do about it, just accept it and smile. :-)
I would like to share some pictures I took in Lillehammer last week.
Beautiful colors.

When I was in Lillehammer I could not resist purchasing some fabric.
As you know I will attend the sew together 100 City Blocks, and here you can see some of the fabric I will use.
This beauties I purchased at www.sybutikkenlillehammer.no
Agnes will always help you to find what you need, and she has a lot of tempting fabrics... :-)
All my fabric is washed and ironed and ready to cut....

If you missed my guest post at Jane's on Monday, you can see the quilt top and the embroidery I presented here:

Have a nice day.
